We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our team at Queensland Hydro. As a key member of our project team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental management practices are implemented on site.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake site-based assurance activities to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Review contractor documentation and procedures to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with project managers and site representatives to ensure understanding and compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Review contractor incident reporting and investigations to ensure adequate corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure contractors implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Share relevant safety and environmental learnings within the organization.
- Support the implementation of our Health and Safety Management System and Environmental Management System.
- Assist in inducting project staff and developing toolbox sessions.
- Champion a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility within the project framework.
- Relevant degree, diploma, or certificate in health and safety or environmental science or management.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in civil construction, utilities, or related industry.
- Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders to encourage innovation and best practice.
- Extensive knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation, including codes of practice and AS/NZS ISO.
- Proven ability to facilitate risk assessments, incident investigations, and audit activities.
- Strong track record in critical risk and control management in a high-risk environment.
- Competent and proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
- 12.75% superannuation.
