Job Title: Environmental Project Coordinator

Catchment Solutions is a leading environmental services provider operating in Queensland, Australia. We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Coordinator to join our team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental engineering, science, or a related field, with 3-5 years of experience in environmental services provision. They will be responsible for managing development and planning approval applications, receiving environment monitoring programs, and statutory permit applications.

The role will involve working on Environmental Planning and Approvals projects, as well as Water Quality Services and Ecosystem Rehabilitation & Repairs projects. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement best practice environmental projects and services
  • Seek out new business opportunities and prepare proposals and quotes
  • Compile and monitor budgets and manage projects to ensure quality results are delivered on time and within budget
  • Provide leadership and advice within the environmental team and work cooperatively with external stakeholders
  • Work independently on assigned projects and be responsible for milestone delivery

Requirements:

  • Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in environmental engineering, science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental services provision
  • Working knowledge of the Queensland planning system and experience in negotiation with state referral agencies and departments
  • Experience in engaging and managing expert sub-consultants
  • Exposure to project coordination, management, reporting, and budgeting
  • A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards
  • Experience in business operations and client management
  • A hands-on approach to service delivery with experience in leading by example in operational and consulting areas
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated abilities in mentoring and staff supervision
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the capacity for original and strategic thought
