Job Title: Environmental Project Officer

Catchment Solutions is a leading environmental services provider operating in Queensland, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality projects that make a positive impact on the environment.

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Officer to join our team, who will be responsible for managing development and planning approval applications, receiving environment monitoring programs, and working on a range of environmental projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, and will have experience in project coordination, management, and reporting. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage development and planning approval applications, including preparing and submitting applications, and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Receive and manage environment monitoring programs, including data collection and reporting.
  • Work on a range of environmental projects, including planning and approvals, compliance monitoring, and rehabilitation.
  • Provide leadership and advice to the environmental team, and work cooperatively with external stakeholders and the organisation as a whole.
  • Work independently on assigned projects, and be responsible for milestone delivery.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' professional experience in environmental services provision, preferably in Queensland.
  • Working knowledge of the Queensland planning system, and experience in negotiation with state referral agencies and departments.
  • Experience in engaging and managing expert sub-consultants, and exposure to project coordination, management, reporting, and budgeting.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards, and a hands-on approach to service delivery.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, including mentoring and staff supervision, and highly developed written and oral communication skills.
