Principal Engineer Position

This is a senior engineering role that involves managing the planning and delivery of rehabilitation, maintenance, and safety improvement works across the region.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing road infrastructure projects from design through to delivery. They should be solutions-focused, collaborative, and highly organized with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    1. Lead and manage the delivery of infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation projects.
    2. Act as the Principal's Representative on construction contracts and oversee procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
    3. Provide high-level technical and engineering advice to ensure project success, value for money, and adherence to standards.
    4. Monitor progress reporting, financial forecasting, and quality assurance.
    5. Oversee the development and implementation of project documentation and ensure alignment with safety, environmental, and legislative requirements.
    6. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and the community.
    7. Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff, including supervision in line with RPEQ requirements.
Requirements

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    1. A four-year Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent recognized by Engineers Australia).
    2. RPEQ registration (or eligible and committed to obtaining it).
    3. Current Class C driver's license.
    4. White Card (Construction Industry Induction).
    5. Provision of suitable PPE.
    6. Ability to pass a Criminal History Check.
