KB Seafood Co is currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This exciting opportunity involves undertaking all servicing, repair, and upkeep of various machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the processing preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting and repairing different types of machinery, conducting tests and inspections, and maintaining records of stock, labor costs, and equipment maintenance history.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and coordinate the processing preventative maintenance program
  2. Trouble shoot and repair various types of machinery
  3. Conduct tests and inspections to ensure machinery meets standards
  4. Record stock of materials and supplies, labor costs, and equipment maintenance performance history
  5. Monitor equipment and processing efficiency and act to improve where necessary
  6. Maintain spare parts stock levels to ensure optimal inventory in support of the processing department
  7. Ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedure and legislation
  8. Participate in regular communication to ensure effective contractor resource planning in line with project expectations
  9. Collaborate and maintain a high level of cooperation with other departments, related to service, cost, and productivity
  10. Responsible for all handovers and checklists generated internally for the quality system
  11. Maintain documentation of all maintenance and repair activities
  12. Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency and productivity, reduce downtime due to maintenance, failures, and work in progress
  13. Participate in failure investigations as assigned

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a maintenance technician or electrician role, relevant trade qualification, experience in food industry, strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, commitment to workplace health and safety, good communication skills, and flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or be on-call as required.
