Roster Management Specialist

Position Overview:

The Roster Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in the effective management and communication of front-line staff schedules via our centralized scheduling tool.

  • Responsible for managing daily master rosters, optimizing employee work availability, handling leave requests, coordinating backfilling, casual workforce, and labor hire workforce.
  • Collaborates with the corporate scheduling team to ensure data accuracy and system forecasting capabilities.
  • Liaises with staff on site regarding allocations, roster changes, additional shifts, and communication of available shifts to ensure all shifts are filled with backups.
  • Oversees training and access to the timekeeping system, including onboarding new employees with site systems.
  • Maintains confidentiality of scheduling information according to company policies and conduct standards.
  • Fosters a collaborative environment on-site, ensuring effective communication and high-quality resident care.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives related to processes, engagement, experience, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling Optimization: Maximize employee work availability, minimize overtime, and optimize labor costs.
  • Leave and Absence Management: Effectively manage leave requests, sick leave, and absences to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Casual Workforce Management: Coordinate and manage casual workforce to meet business demands.
  • Labor Hire Workforce Management: Manage labor hire workforce to supplement regular staff during peak periods.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in roster management and scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
