Accounting Lead Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting professional to lead key financial reporting and compliance functions for a forward-thinking organization.

  • Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements, budgets, and long-term financial plans, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate external audits and guarantee full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the integrity of our general ledger, overseeing end-of-month and year-end processes, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Administer and enhance our financial systems to meet evolving needs, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Provide expert advice on financial regulations, best practices, and risk management, informing strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate across departments to support informed forecasting and decision-making, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Safeguard data integrity through robust internal controls and vigilant risk awareness.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting and membership with a recognized accounting body.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and local government finance.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, audit coordination, and team leadership.
  • Advanced understanding of digital finance systems and a drive for ongoing improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
