About the Role

The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular tourist destination offering a unique opportunity to engage with Australian wildlife and conservation topics.

As an Education Officer, you will play a key role in delivering educational programs and promoting the work of the Sanctuary to visitors, students, and community groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver educational programs for various age groups focusing on Australian wildlife and conservation topics.
  • Host school visits, deliver education workshops both on and off-site, conduct outreach programs in schools, and promote the Sanctuary at community events.
  • Develop and implement engaging and interactive programs showcasing the Sanctuary's mission and values.

Requirements:

  • Prior teaching experience and the ability to interpret curriculum are essential.
  • Strong communication skills to engage diverse audiences are required.
  • Physical ability to walk distances, carry loads up to 10kg, and perform all requirements of the role in various weather conditions is necessary.
  • Good administrative skills, including program bookings and event management using Microsoft Office Suite, are also required.
