About this role

Urbis, a market-leading built environment consultancy, seeks an experienced Data Engineer to join its growing team. With a focus on shaping the cities and communities of Australia for a better future, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering fresh thinking and independent advice.

The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder with a strong background in Azure services, including Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, Key Vault, ADF, and Azure Functions. They will be responsible for designing optimal data pipeline architecture, maintaining existing databases, and ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout Urbis.

A competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum reflects the company's commitment to attracting top talent. You will:

  • Maintain existing on-premises and cloud databases to support business continuity.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture using Azure services.
  • Assemble large, complex datasets that meet business requirements, including spatial data, financial data, performance metrics, and primary survey data.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights from a blend of demographic, real estate, and proprietary Urbis datasets.
  • Work with stakeholders, including Executive, Applications, and Data teams, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their future data infrastructure needs.
