About this Opportunity:

Drakes Supermarkets, Australia's largest independent grocery retailer, is seeking a skilled and experienced Bakery Manager to lead its bakery department at the Rochedale store in South Brisbane.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hardworking leader to join our team and take on the challenge of managing a small team, creating rosters, generating orders, completing stock takes, and more.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Store Manager and be responsible for overseeing daily bakery operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bakery Management: Manage a small team, create rosters, generate orders, complete stock takes, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of bakery staff to achieve excellent customer service and sales targets.
  • Fresh Food Retail Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of fresh food retail operations, including inventory management, stock control, and cash handling.
  • Bakery Experience: Preferably have experience in a bakery or similar environment, with knowledge of traditional baking methods and modern retail practices.
  • Cost Control: Order and control costs effectively to meet business objectives and improve profitability.
  • Gross Profit Calculations: Accurately calculate gross profit margins and make informed decisions to optimize sales and minimize waste.
