IT Technical Support Specialist Role Overview

Job Description

This role provides technical support to the local infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of issues, including malfunctions, software errors, network connectivity problems, and configuration issues.

  • Provide on-site support for local IT systems, managing and participating in problem resolution through the global service desk ticket system.
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting for networking, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other technologies.
  • Manage and implement patch management on local site infrastructure under the guidance and management of the wider IT functional teams.
  • Responsible for asset management, life cycle refresh management, and providing hands-on technical support and infrastructure experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Site-based support, resource tasking, and customer-facing approach.
  • Local IT system management, fault diagnostics, and problem resolution.
  • Networking, server storage, and IT infrastructure support.
  • Technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and best practice adoption.
  • Support for special projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Mandatory: 5+ years in a customer-facing IT technical support role with infrastructure responsibilities.
  • Mandatory: Experience in system administration, networking fault diagnostics, and Linux/Ubuntu.
  • Desirable: VMware and ESXi, Active Directory, Group Policy administration, Netapp, Synology, PowerVault.
  • Desirable: Microsoft Operating Systems, Windows applications, communication skills, and relevant degree qualification.
