About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical & Surgical Department as a Clinical Leader. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering excellence in clinical leadership and providing safety and quality to patients and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjust and Interpret Medical Equipment: Utilize specialized medical equipment as needed, interpreting and recording measurements to ensure accurate patient care.
  • Patient Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner, ensuring the highest level of patient safety.
  • Education and Support: Answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care, promoting a positive patient experience.
  • Quality Improvement and Safety Management: Lead successful quality improvement and safety management projects to deliver desired outcomes, driving excellence in patient care.
  • Discharge Planning and Collaboration: Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning, ensuring a seamless transition for patients.
  • Safe Practice and Role Modeling: Act as a role model for safe practice, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability within the team.

About You
  • AHPRA Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is essential.
  • Experience and Qualifications: Previous surgical/acute medical and rehabilitation experience of 2 years or more is required, along with demonstrated professional development and a commitment to quality patient care.
  • Initiative and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work within a team environment, with excellent communication skills and a minimum of 2 years' experience in acute care.
