We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer with High Voltage experience to provide technical support for the construction and commissioning of the 132kV substation installation works. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing HV electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop HV electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Lead electrical equipment specification and procurement activities, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors.
- Perform detailed calculations to establish and validate the sizing and selection of HV equipment.
- Lead HV installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HV systems.
- Drive the successful delivery of the vendor packages (Transformers, GIS, protection panels, HV switchboards, etc).
- Liaise with Western Power to coordinate the interfacing testing works and HV submission.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth integration of HV systems in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Supervise contractors and technicians during HV works and provide guidance on technical issues.
- Ensure all HV activities adhere to safety regulations and best practices, including implementation of isolation procedures and risk assessments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) working with HV systems in substations.
- Proven experience (5+ years) working with HV systems in construction, industrial, or utility environments.
- In-depth knowledge of HV electrical design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance practices.
- Experience with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools used for HV systems.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards (e.g., AS/NZS, IEC, or equivalent).
