About the Opportunity

KBR is a leading provider of infrastructure solutions, and we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex projects, providing technical leadership, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers and drafters
  • Manage and coordinate the design and development of structural engineering projects
  • Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with KBR's integrated management system requirements
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are met
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks as necessary
  • Ensure that all project deliverables are of high quality and meet the required standards
Requirements
  • Significant knowledge and experience in a principal and leadership role in buildings and defence projects
  • Proven workforce management experience
  • Experience working within a defence and engineering consulting environment
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a baseline Defence security clearance
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, or aligned discipline
  • A higher-level degree or postgraduate qualification in an aligned field such as project management or business management will be an advantage
  • Experience in leading teams and delivering projects worth $50M and up
  • A Chartered Member (CPEng) credential from Engineers Australia or the ability to obtain chartership within a reasonable agreed time frame
  • A practical knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety
