Office Manager Role Overview

The Office Manager sits within the Business Support team of the Corporate Services branch. This team plays a key role in delivering user-friendly, public-facing services while ensuring workplaces run smoothly behind the scenes.

This individual will take ownership of accommodation management, security and risk frameworks, and the ongoing optimisation of office spaces within the agency. They will be trusted to work with independence, integrity and a problem-solving mindset, helping to embed best practice while driving positive change in day-to-day business operations.

NV2 Security Clearance is highly desired for this position.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Operational Support: Provide clear guidance to staff on accommodation, facilities, property, asset management and workplace security.

  • Administration & Coordination: Deliver accurate administrative support, oversee workplace safety and security processes, coordinate special events, manage office fit-outs or refurbishments. Act as the key contact for external authorities and service providers.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, service providers and building management representatives. Provide training on security practices and foster a positive, proactive risk culture.

Key Challenges
  • Acting as the first point of contact at a registry, delivering timely advice across facilities, security and workplace issues.

  • Balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while communicating clearly and effectively.

  • Ensuring compliance with government legislation, policies and internal frameworks around property, risk and asset management.

Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of property, facilities, asset and risk management, supported by a solid understanding of government policies and legislative frameworks.

  • Proven leadership capability in managing disruptions or emergencies, coordinating events and providing training across WHS and security requirements.

  • Highly developed organisational and managerial skills, with the ability to prioritise, research and coordinate effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and foster constructive stakeholder relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, deliver on office fit-out or layout projects and apply sound judgment under pressure.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience maintaining records, conducting stocktakes and providing accurate responses to information requests.
