Smart Built Pty Ltd is a distinguished domestic and commercial building contractor based in Adelaide, South Australia. We provide package solutions, head contractor, and project management services in various areas.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced project manager to oversee our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial property construction management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly visit the construction site to inspect ongoing work and ensure compliance with approved plans, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage construction quality, materials, and workmanship to ensure the project meets specified standards and codes.
  • Supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and laborers, coordinating their work to ensure tasks are completed according to the project schedule.
  • Assist with and enforce HSEQ protocols and regulations on the construction site to protect workers, equipment, and the environment.
  • Monitor project costs and expenses, ensuring the project stays within budget and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Seek materials suppliers nationwide or overseas, negotiating price and quality, and coordinating with suppliers to place orders and track the delivery of construction materials.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.
  • Keep accurate records of project documentation, including drawings, permits, contracts, and change orders, reporting any issues encountered.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction management is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Traveling/working away from Adelaide for short periods.
  • Builder license is not mandatory but is highly desirable.
