Job Title: Mechanical Trades Assistant

The Role

We are seeking a skilled tradesperson to participate in on and off the job training to develop mechanical skills and perform tasks associated with our department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced tradespeople with various rebuilds and repairs
  • Support tradespeople with inspection and repair of equipment and machinery
  • Complete requisition sheets to maintain inventory levels
  • FOLLOW workshop procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace to ensure a safe working environment
  • Successfully complete all required learning modules within the designated timeframe
  • Report any issues affecting Engineering Workshop operations to the Engineering Leading Hand immediately
  • Work effectively as part of a team to provide excellent service and promote a positive work environment
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Current manual driver's license is advantageous
  • Able to work at heights safely
  • Completion of Year 10 Certificate
