Project Environmental Manager

This role is ideal for individuals who can lead the implementation of environmental and sustainability management requirements on major civil projects.

  • Provide leadership in implementing project environmental management plans and systems
  • Conduct reviews to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain environment and sustainability management plans
  • Manage environmental permits and ensure legal compliance
  • Build relationships with regulatory authorities and stakeholders

Key skills required include:

Leadership skills: Ability to lead a team and implement project environmental management plans and systems.

Communication skills: Ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders, and build relationships with regulatory authorities.

Problem-solving skills: Ability to conduct reviews to identify opportunities for improvement, and develop and maintain environment and sustainability management plans.

Attention to detail: Ability to manage environmental permits and ensure legal compliance.

Working at this level requires a strong understanding of environmental science, relevant qualifications and experience working with infrastructure sustainability rating schemes and Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads projects.
