Role Overview

Latrobe Regional Health is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Psychiatric Emergency Care team in a full-time capacity. The successful candidate will provide advanced nursing practice in the Emergency Department, focusing on specialist AOD screening, assessment, treatment, and referral.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist AOD interventions to patients
  • Implement standardised and evidence-based AOD tools
  • Provide education and training to emergency department staff to enhance their capacity in AOD screening, assessment, treatment, and referral
  • Coordinate services and develop integrated referral pathways with AOD providers and other external services
  • Develop strategies to meet the 4-hour NEAT for AOD presentations
  • Establish a secondary AOD consultation program for sub-regional emergency departments across Gippsland

Requirements

  • Provision of high-quality evidence-based care within an advanced nursing framework
  • Provision of a high level of organisational nursing leadership
  • Ability to actively participate in the management of human resources and the development of a skilled workforce
  • Ability to actively lead and contribute to a culture of improving performance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
