About the Role

We're looking for a skilled professional to work within our SME General Insurance team, focusing on Property, Liability, Motor, Marine, and Accident & Health lines. As a Technical SME Portfolio Specialist, you'll identify opportunities to drive growth and performance within the SME portfolio, while collaborating with the underwriting team to maintain underwriting and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the SME market position of Zurich, including competitor proposition and pricing position.
  • Focus on customer solutions, using customer metrics to define propositions and drive business growth.
  • Identify portfolio underwriting strategies to maximize growth opportunities and mitigate underperforming segments.
  • Collaborate with the Platforms team to design and implement business rules for efficiency and automation within the SME segment.
  • Work with line of business heads to develop and enhance SME products and propositions.
  • Develop and deliver training to drive technical underwriting excellence and capability uplift across the SME underwriting teams.
  • Manage review and updating of underwriting guidelines.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Understanding of the financial drivers of portfolio performance.
  • Strong technical experience in commercial underwriting.
  • Portfolio or product management experience.
  • Track record of developing and executing to deliver underwriting results.
  • Familiarity with relevant LOB wordings and rating tools.
  • Ability to analyze data to develop ideas and test assumptions.
