Zurich is on a journey to create a more sustainable and prosperous future for our customers, communities, and the planet. We're seeking a skilled Technical Portfolio Strategist to join our SME General Insurance team.

As a Technical Portfolio Strategist, you will work closely with our underwriting team to identify opportunities and develop ideas to manage performance and drive growth within the SME portfolio. You will analyze data to develop insights and test assumptions, and collaborate with our Platforms team to design and implement business rules to drive efficiency and automation within the SME segment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Determine SME market position of Zurich, including competitor proposition and pricing position.
  • Focusing on customer solutions. Using appropriate customer metrics to define propositions, including marketing surveys, TNPS and RNPS, and focus groups
  • Identify portfolio underwriting strategies to maximise growth opportunities in profitable segments and mitigate underperforming segments
  • Collaborate with the Platforms team to design and implement business rules to drive efficiency and automation within the SME segment
  • Work with line of business heads to develop and enhance SME products and proposition
  • Develop and deliver training to drive technical underwriting excellence and capability uplift across the SME underwriting teams
  • Manage review and updating of underwriting guidelines

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the financial drivers of portfolio performance
  • Strong technical experience in commercial underwriting
  • Portfolio or product management experience
  • Track record of developing and executing to deliver underwriting results
  • Familiar with the relevant LOB wordings and rating tools
  • Ability to analyse data in order to develop ideas and test assumptions
