Empowering Educational Outcomes

At our organisation, we have been at the forefront of supporting Australians with a disability and those experiencing poverty, violence, and abuse for over 240 years combined. Now, as one unified entity, we bring together unparalleled expertise and a shared commitment to empowering individuals and families to thrive while upholding and championing their human rights.

We believe in a future where everyone has the opportunity to live the fulfilling life they choose for themselves, free from the impacts of trauma, violence, and abuse, achieved safely and with dignity.

About the Role:

The School Psychologist will provide clinical services to the school, including completing psychological assessments (cognitive, educational, and social-emotional) to understand the student's level of functioning and educational support needs.

The successful applicant will also provide counselling and therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and their families, as well as secondary consultation and advice to school staff and families/care-givers.

About You:

We are seeking a registered psychologist with current registration who has a sound understanding of the complexities of the Child Protection and Education service systems.

You will have demonstrated ability to provide direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of young people and families, as well as a sound understanding and demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cognitive, social-emotional, and educational assessments using restricted psychological assessment tools to understand the student's level of functioning and educational support needs.
  • Conduct assessments on the impact of trauma, neglect, and abuse experiences on the child's development and functioning as needed.
  • Provide counselling and therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and their families.
  • Provide secondary consultation and advice to school staff and families/care-givers.

What We Offer:

Our organisation offers a supportive and collaborative work environment, competitive salary packaging options, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome applications from diverse candidates and are committed to creating a workplace that values and respects diversity.
