Senior Mechanical Project Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the coordination of design, procurement and construction elements of the Material Handling Package.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering services to support project outcomes against agreed project schedules.

  • Accountable for performance and delivery of engineering design deliverables for project execution.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with technically acceptable standards of work for the discipline group.
  • Delegate as necessary, while working within the framework and policies of the business.
  • Manage and coordinate the design effort of team reports to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
  • Work with Technical Specialists to ensure specification compliance, technical integrity of design.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and improvement of systems across the division.
  • Manage customer relations to achieve mutually beneficial program outcomes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant postgraduate engineering experience in engineering/construction environments.
  • Good knowledge and exposure in determining site layouts, providing engineering input to design modelling of civil roads, drainage and siteworks, reviewing geotechnical reports, reviewing civil drawings and 3D models, determining loads and load combinations, performing modelling and analysis of soil-structure interaction, designing simple foundations, slabs on ground and retaining structures.
  • Possess ability to integrate seamlessly into a project team at any point during its lifecycle and work unsupervised to achieve results.
  • General computer literacy skills and good knowledge of Australian Codes and Standards.
