About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join our client's team in Melbourne's construction industry. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for negotiating favourable rates with suppliers and subcontractors, streamlining procurement processes, and enhancing the company's cost savings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate competitive rates with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Streamline procurement processes to improve efficiency.
  • Enhance cost savings through proactive problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record in procurement for construction companies, with a history of achieving savings on building materials, supplies, and services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, scope, plans, hardware, and related industry rates and costs.
  • Strong negotiation abilities to secure favourable rates from suppliers and trades.
  • Experience in identifying new suppliers, opening accounts, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Ability to co-validate invoices with Project Managers to maintain budgets.
