
Senior Phlebotomy Team Lead

At our organization, we are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Collector Supervisor. This is a challenging and rewarding position that will require you to manage the day-to-day operations of the phlebotomy team.
This includes training staff in venepuncture and blood collection techniques, managing phlebotomy staff, actively initiating and leading service reviews and development, representation at relevant meetings and committees, and coordinating data collection and statistical reporting.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop strong and collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
They will also have experience in coordination and dealing with research study processing and procedures, transportation of specimens, and documentation of same. Additionally, they will have demonstrated customer service, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the phlebotomy team.
- Train staff in venepuncture and blood collection techniques.
- Manage phlebotomy staff, including recruitment, supervision, performance management, workload allocation, and appraisals.
- Actively initiate and lead service reviews and development.
- Represent the department at relevant meetings and committees.
- Coordinate data collection and statistical reporting.
- Lead the staff professional development program.
Requirements:
- At least eight years practical experience in blood collection techniques with at least four of those years in Paediatric phlebotomy.
- Previous experience in staff supervision with at least three years' experience in paediatric phlebotomy training with experience in documentation of assessments and training programs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as interpersonal skills.
- Experience in coordination and dealing with research study processing and procedures.
- Demonstrated customer service, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
