About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Grounds and Maintenance Officer to join our team at Ozcare. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the upkeep of the grounds and maintenance requirements of our beautiful heritage listed Retirement Village.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grounds Maintenance
    • Perform all gardening duties, including mowing, edging, hedging, leaf blowing, planting, and lawn management.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the village exterior, including stairwells, pathways, decking, and building surrounds.
    • Maintain garden equipment and supplies, arranging replacement or repair as necessary.
  • Maintenance
    • Action general maintenance requests for the village and residents on a weekly basis, triaging requests and escalating to the village manager or external contractors as required.
    • Manage garbage disposal, including skip bins and general refuse and recycling.
  • Administration
    • Assist with the development of the annual maintenance schedule.
    • Report on any hazards to the Retirement Village Manager.
Requirements
  • Current Police Screening Certificate.
  • Certificate III or equivalent experience in a related area and/or a trade qualification in the building industry (e.g., landscaping, carpentry/building).
  • Demonstrated relevant experience managing large grounds and maintenance duties.
  • A genuine interest in the elderly with a personable approach and desire to provide services that enhance the lives of our residents.
  • Current Queensland Driver's Licence and vehicle (mileage claimable).
  • Current first aid and CPR certificates.
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills.
