About the Role

As a Technical Director in our Java Development team, you will provide technical expertise across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This key leadership role is responsible for providing technical direction and oversight to ensure strict compliance with the company's architectural vision and technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Innovative Solutions: Develop fit-for-purpose solutions that solve business problems and adhere to our architecture and technology strategies.
  • Lead Solution Designs: Leverage extensive experience to influence and own solution designs and development of our modern architecture.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Stay current with relevant industry movements, identifying, validating, and endorsing trends to be adopted into our operations.
  • Evolve Internal Practices: Take ownership of the evolution of our internal backend development practices, along with the evolution of applications within the area of remit.
  • Build Out CI/CD Pipeline: Help build out our Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipeline and AWS deployment infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work collaboratively within a cross-functional Agile team, contributing to design, development, deployment, and support activities as required.
About You

We're looking for an experienced professional who possesses:

  • Extensive Experience: Extensive experience building, deploying, maintaining, and supporting microservices.
  • Java Expertise: Expert knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud Microservices frameworks.
  • SQL Knowledge: Excellent knowledge and application of SQL and ORM technologies.
  • Tech Documentation: Demonstrated experience identifying application improvement opportunities, proposing appropriate solutions, and driving business cases for endorsement.
  • AWS Experience: Extensive experience with AWS Developer Tools and ecosystem, as well as Cloud deployment with Docker.
  • Atlassian Suite: Ability to work in the Atlassian suite of products: JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Security Standards: Drive best practice of software application security standards.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and implement techniques to influence non-technical audiences toward desired outcomes.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to coach others and share expertise for the greater good of our people and business.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: An attractive annual salary of $140,000 - $160,000 AUD, depending on experience.
