Urgent requirement of Senior DevOps Engineer - Contract - Sydney

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in production environments, including backup/recovery, monitoring, and alerting.

Key Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in DevOps support, with a strong background in systems administration.
  • Excellent systems administration skills, with at least 5-8 years' experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud services, including AWS core services (IAM, VPC, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Route53, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, DynamoDB).
  • Understanding of security principles and AWS best practices.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure-as-a-code approach and exposure to AWS CloudFormation, Terraform.
  • Solid experience in building and maintaining Docker images.
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Bamboo CI, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Experience with AWS Serverless.
  • Experience with long-term operation, monitoring, and upgrade of enterprise software.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Development Kit, Troposphere.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, networking, and protocols.
  • Understanding of Web and API development.
  • Solid understanding of source code control, preferably with Git.
  • Disaster recovery design and implementation.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement concepts based on industry best practices.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and wear multiple hats – an element of cost estimation is required to assist in pipeline management and planning.
Qualifications:
  • Formal certifications and training relevant to the role are highly regarded.
  • Formal IT qualifications are highly regarded.
