Job Description

Hostplus is seeking a technically skilled professional to lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of climate risk management and sustainability reporting in alignment with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (AASB S1 & S2).

The role supports Hostplus' commitment to net zero by 2050 by leading climate-related processes, conducting advanced modelling and analysis, and ensuring disclosures meet regulatory and stakeholder expectations.

It directly contributes to optimising long-term net investment returns by embedding climate risk and sustainability into investment processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications:

  • Relevant field such as Environmental Science, Finance, Engineering, Data Science; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years in climate-related financial analysis, scenario modelling, emissions data validation, and sustainability reporting within superannuation, institutional investment, or asset management.

Expertise:

  • GHG emissions accounting using recognised standards, tracking net-zero targets, energy efficiency, and renewable energy metrics.
  • Applying ESG frameworks, conducting climate stress testing, and meeting reporting and assurance requirements.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Excel (Advanced), Tableau or Power BI; experience with ESG platforms.

Leadership skills:

  • Leading cross-functional projects, engaging senior stakeholders on climate strategy and reporting.
