Delivering IT Excellence as a Technology Product Owner

The role of the Technology Product Owner is pivotal in delivering high-quality IT services across multiple locations. As a key member of our Airline IT business, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless delivery of IT services to meet the evolving needs of our International & Domestic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan, build and execute projects that drive business growth and operational excellence, with a focus on point ownership and stakeholder management.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure consistent service delivery standards are met, catering to diverse Qantas staff requirements irrespective of their location.
  • Focus on Airport IT services, including collaboration with other Product Owners within the Airport Experience domain to deploy innovative products and services across International & domestic regions.
  • Effectively manage third-party support technicians on projects and daily support activities, as well as represent IT interests on business-led projects such as new airport start-ups.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with Qantas Technology vendors to support regional managers and deliver commercial value.
  • Provide commercial management of local technology suppliers to optimize business outcomes.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle for airport products and services, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Be prepared to travel domestically and/or internationally for short periods as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a remote team, as well as possess self-driven skills and qualities.
  • 5+ years' experience in an Agile environment, with 3+ years as an agile Iteration Manager working within a scaled agile environment (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years in delivery roles working with Agile vendors, showcasing expertise in stakeholder management and supplier collaboration.
  • Experience in multi-supplier outsourced IT environments, with solid expertise in operational service management, inclusive supplier and service improvement plans.
  • Expert stakeholder engagement and management skills, coupled with proficiency in multiple Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, design thinking, HCD and other frameworks.
  • Experience designing and facilitating fit-for-purpose workshops that deliver defined outcomes.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, combined with strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Strong people leadership skills and experience, with the ability to work cross-functionally and align business unit processes to enterprise business processes.
