Job Overview

The Laboratory Sample Management Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of laboratory processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, logging, and storing samples and reagents while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and quality control protocols.
  • Managing inventory, labeling solutions, consumables, and handling storage across various temperature ranges.
  • Preparing shipments, documenting sample destruction, and verifying delivery/shipment conditions to maintain chain of custody.
  • Supporting laboratory operations, including sample preparation, cryopreservation, thawing, and counting; preparing solutions/reagents.
Qualifications and Requirements

Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Diploma in Laboratory Sciences or equivalent qualification.
  • 1 year of laboratory experience, preferably in a biological safety cabinet under sterile conditions.
  • Experience working with PBMC isolation (Ficoll or CPT), cryopreservation, thawing, and counting with a hemocytometer is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and good record-keeping abilities are essential.
Work Environment and Schedule

Key aspects of the work environment and schedule include:

  • 100% onsite work arrangement.
  • Fixed schedule of Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Working in a Biosafety Level (BSL) 1 or 2 laboratory handling potentially hazardous biological samples.
