Job Title: Assistant Book Buyer

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to kickstart their Buying career.

As an Assistant Book Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Buying team in executing purchasing processes across the retail network.

  • Supporting buying activities including product sourcing from suppliers, order placement and trend analysis.
  • Liaising with key contacts such as book publishers, marketing colleagues and the store network.
  • Coordinating the merchandise calendar to schedule supplier meetings.
  • Working closely with the Marketing team on promotional materials including proofreading.
  • Collaborating with the Website team to ensure key products are actively promoted.
  • Assisting in preparing collateral for key meetings, negotiations and conferences.
  • Supporting the preparation and rollout of monthly promotions.

About You:

  • Prior experience in the publishing or retail industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask with high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion and knowledge of books.
  • Able to work effectively within a team environment.
