Substation Engineering Expert

As a Substation Engineering Expert, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of asset lifecycle planning strategies for substations. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance of substations within our transmission network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain asset class strategies, asset design manuals, maintenance strategies, and functional requirements.
  • Review and provide expertise on deviations from existing standards and adoption of new practices related to detailed design, plant selection, and acceptance.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with construction, commissioning, installation, testing, and operation.
  • Support the delivery team throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to handover.
  • Provide technical leadership for substation services and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with regulatory performance obligations and network operation requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the energy industry, preferably in transmission, distribution, or generation.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial and contracting requirements, with experience in reliability engineering (statistical analysis) highly desirable.
