Job Opportunity: Finance Officer

This is a 12 month role within the public sector.

The agency responsible for implementing major changes in personal disability funding across the county will be introducing a person-centric model, providing individuals with disabilities and their families more choices, independence and control over services affecting every aspect of their lives.

As a Finance Officer, you will undertake moderately complex finance-related activities and tasks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with asset management
  • Costing proposals and initiatives as required
  • Drafting various written materials including business cases, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation
  • Establishing, managing and providing financial management advice to internal and external stakeholders to improve financial management and operations within the organisation
  • Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines
  • Monitoring and managing work output and quality against established performance standards through quality analysis and reporting
  • Monitoring and reporting on achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance to assist local management in managing overall performance
  • Undertaking financial administration across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals
  • Participating in weekly, monthly and annual SAP FI system rollover activities and assisting users of SAP FI
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A CPA qualification or substantial progress towards it
  • Extensive demonstrated finance experience in a medium to large organisation
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP and Excel
  • The ability to generate and interpret data reports
  • Experience measuring and reporting on compliance with approved policies/procedures
  • The ability to communicate and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders

Key skills and qualifications include financial reporting, analysis, stakeholder liaison, system proficiency, adaptability, resilience, excellent judgement and decision-making ability.
