Accounting Leadership Position

The Director of Accounting plays a crucial role in overseeing all accounting and reporting activities, including financial analysis and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the accounting team and manage general accounting and reporting, accounts receivable, revenue recognition and deposits, cash management, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Direct the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial information, including preparation of financial statements.
  • Establish and maintain overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies to ensure accuracy and integrity, working closely with the CFO.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management on budgets, planning, and required filings and reports.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and safeguards to protect company assets, examining accounting records for accuracy.
  • Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting, ensuring expenditures align with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and provide training and development for staff.
  • Prepare financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundations.
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.

Strong candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and have at least 10 years of progressive accounting and financial experience, with 5-7 years in a management role. A Master's degree and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license are preferred.
