Job Description

Aerospace Mechanical Assembly Role Overview

This job involves hands-on assembly of complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems. The candidate will work on various projects that require high attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble aerospace components and sub-systems
  • Install fasteners, standoffs, rivets, and hardware according to specifications
  • Apply adhesives, sealants, inks, and paint products as needed
  • Use precision tools and shrink fitment techniques
  • Mark parts according to customer quality standards
  • Support team members and maintain a clean workspace

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess trade qualifications in engineering or manufacturing (Certificate III in Engineering or a Certificate in Aeroskills) along with relevant hands-on experience in aerospace assembly. Required skills include:

  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes
  • Attention to detail and ability to interpret 3D models
  • Proficiency with hand tools, powered hand tools, and measuring equipment
  • Time management and deadline adherence
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy and data extraction from technical drawings
  • Previous experience in aerospace component/system assembly (desirable)
