Mechanical Assembly Technician

Work on the mechanical assembly of railcars, utilizing cutting-edge technology in a state-of-the-art facility.

About the Role:
  • Perform tasks including but limited to torquing, bolting, piping, component and equipment installation, panel fitting, and door assembly.
  • Operate materials handling equipment safely and efficiently to support assembly processes.
  • Conduct mechanical testing and fault finding
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of mechanical rollingstock systems, manufacturing processes, and specialized equipment is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing best practices
  • Ability to dismantle, replace, assemble, and fit mechanical and engineering components
  • Experience in hydraulic systems is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
