About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at Essity Australasia. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial information for management reporting and business partnering across departments.

Your responsibilities will include preparing tax returns and activity statements, posting monthly journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting with annual financial statements and audits for the region.

This role is crucial for maintaining our financial health and supporting strategic decision-making. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our management team to drive business growth and improve financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage our financial accounting systems (SAP/Dynamics BC/SAP B1) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly and clear transactions to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Implement processes and controls for all key accounts to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Streamline systems and processes where possible to improve financial operations.
  • Prepare group GST and FBT obligations and assist with other group indirect tax lodgements.
  • Assist in the preparation of group corporate income tax filings and associated documents.
  • Closely manage month-end accruals and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Upload accurate data to the worldwide consolidation platform (AARO).
  • Ensure all leases are entered in accordance with AASB 16 and reconciled in SAP.
  • Develop and implement financial accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Maintain and continuously improve frameworks for managing transactions.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and prepare ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide backup to other finance team members.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant with a strong background in financial accounting and a proven track record of delivering accurate financial information.

You will have a Commerce or Accounting degree and be CA/CPA qualified. You will also have strong Excel skills and experience with multi-national tax compliance for Australia and New Zealand.

You will be a proactive, hands-on individual with excellent communication skills and a team-player mentality. You will be efficient, organized, and quick to learn, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

You will also possess a mindset focused on process improvement, with a willingness to learn and be challenged. You will be eager to grow both personally and professionally, and have strong problem-solving abilities.
