Senior Structural Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior structural engineer to join our team as the Branch Leader. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of structural design and analysis within the residential space, as well as proven project and people management skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing staff, ensuring project timelines are met and deliverables are of high quality. They will also drive business development by tracking opportunities, maintaining industry networks, and supporting client relationships.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage branch budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure targets are met.
  • Maintain compliance across administration, reporting, and insurance requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop detailed structural designs for residential, commercial and industrial projects, including steel, concrete, and timber structures.
  • Conduct structural analysis and calculations using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other project team members to ensure the designs are aligned with the project goals and requirements.
  • Prepare construction documents and specifications for bidding and construction purposes.
  • Conduct site visits and perform structural assessments to evaluate the condition of existing structures.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • RPEQ and CPEng qualified.
  • Experience in industry-standard structural analysis and design software, such as Spacegass, Rapt, Ram, Inducta.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Detailed working knowledge of building codes and regulations, including AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, etc.
  • Knowledge of quality, safety and environmental compliance requirements and a commitment to keeping safety at the core of everything you do.
  • Personable with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships.
  • Proven track record of managing staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Current Automatic Class C Drivers License.
