This role encompasses responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient care, with a focus on enhancing postgraduate education through the mentorship of General Medicine trainees.
- The lifestyle in this region is ideal for those who appreciate outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, camping, canoeing, and swimming.
- The area experiences a sub-tropical climate, characterized by distinct wet and dry seasons. Average temperatures range from 25 to 35° C, with occasional peaks reaching 40° in the late spring months, typically accompanied by high humidity.
- The Dry Season offers pleasant weather, with nighttime temperatures dropping to around 10° C.
- Compensation package up to $350,000
- Facility: 60-bed regional hospital
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inpatient rounds and outpatient consultations, integrating educational components while providing specialist insights to referring medical professionals.
- Engage in the delivery of specialist outreach services in General Medicine to regional healthcare facilities and remote communities.
- Offer care and guidance on the management of patients with General Medicine conditions to colleagues both within and outside the specialty.
- Provide after-hours consultancy support to fellow medical staff and junior colleagues.
- Direct, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate medical personnel in delivering patient care.

- A commitment to enhancing Indigenous health.
- Demonstrated dedication to continuing education, teaching, research, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Ability to effectively interact with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
