Job Title: Firearms and Tactical Training Officer

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Firearms and Tactical Training Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-level training programs to instructors and correctional officers in firearms, tactical skills, and chemical agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the need for and provide strategic guidance on firearms and tactical training initiatives.
  • Evaluate and guide training delivered by centre-based tactical skills instructors to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Coordinate a training calendar for tactical skills programs that assist with ensuring centres comply with mandatory training requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as education, training and development or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a training and development environment, preferably in a corrections setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
