Job Overview

We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to provide technical expertise, strategic advice, and leadership in optimizing asset lifecycles and enhancing service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • The ideal candidate will contribute to the identification, creation, and active management of technical specifications, standards, and guidelines related to civil engineering.
  • They will support senior engineering staff in providing technical advice, subject matter expertise, and risk management advice for civil and pipeline engineering.
  • The successful applicant will drive innovation in digital and sustainable infrastructure approaches, aligned with our corporate strategy.
  • They will support design review, produce, and update standards, implementing the Engineering Assurance framework, product evaluation, and technical support as required.
  • The selected candidate will provide specialized technical support to the Growth and Development team.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil discipline, recognized under the Washington Accord or Engineers Australia, with relevant experience in civil engineering is essential.
  • A driver's license (C class) is mandatory.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in civil and pipeline design is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in civil, structural, and hydraulic design of utility pipelines are necessary.
  • Knowledge of design and construction practices associated with trenchless technologies is also required.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to think critically, apply a commercial and customer mindset, and creatively problem solve.
  • They must be able to build trust, strategically influence, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage contracts and audit work is also essential.
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders is necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate, and work under pressure to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
