Clinical Educator

Curtin University is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Educator to join our team in a fixed-term (12 months – parental leave) term at the School of Allied Health. As a Clinical Educator for Occupational Therapy, you will play a crucial role in shaping the clinical education experiences of our undergraduate and graduate entry master students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide guidance and support to students in the development of clinical skills, procedures, knowledge, and professional development.
- Work closely with academic staff and other clinical educators to ensure students are well-prepared for their professional careers.
- Liaise with industry and community partners to facilitate meaningful clinical education opportunities for students.
- Contribute to the overall development and enhancement of our Occupational Therapy program.
- A degree in Occupational Therapy, and have current, or be eligible for, registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, and at least four years clinical experience in a relevant clinical area.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and clinical skills in one or more areas of occupational therapy practice.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of the principles of evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrate high-level inter-personal, oral, and written communication skills as an effective educator.
- Demonstrate ability to develop and implement innovative methods of instruction for students and supervisors in skills, knowledge, and behaviors of relevance to Occupational Therapy.
- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to establish effective relationships and to represent and promote Occupational Therapy at an interprofessional, School, University, and wider community level.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and manage time effectively.
- A professional postgraduate in Occupational Therapy or related field.
- Experience in innovative models of clinical education.
- Evidence of professional development in clinical education.
