Job Overview

We are seeking highly skilled Rust software development leads of various experience levels to drive the adoption of this innovative language across our entire product spectrum, starting with Ubuntu and extending to our own projects and open-source initiatives.

  • Design, implement, and maintain well-documented and thoroughly tested software in Rust
  • Advocate for Rust adoption within our organization and in upstream projects
  • Identify key projects and codebases that would benefit from Rust adoption
  • Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered by users
  • Participate actively in our engineering process through code and architectural reviews
  • Collaborate closely with community members and colleagues on technical specifications

Key Qualifications:

  • An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, or an alternative narrative showcasing relevant skills
  • Proven experience in designing, deploying, and operating distributed systems and APIs
