Job Opportunity: Financial Policy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Financial Policy Manager at the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the development and implementation of financial management practices across the local government sector.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in policy development and analysis.

The role involves undertaking research and analysis to provide advice on issues related to the financial and accounting impacts across the local government sector.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develops policy for consideration related to the implementation of financial management practices and application of accounting principles;
  • Contributes to the efficient delivery of all related activities leading to the implementation of financial and accounting policy;
  • Participates as a member of the Directorate's senior management team and maintains a constructive and collegiate discipline within the team;
  • Assists in the planning and management of the Local Government Financial Policy and Accounting Support's team's tasks and resources;
  • Couches and trains employees, including resolution of complex research problems.
