About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Taxation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the firm's compliance with all relevant Australian taxation laws and regulatory requirements.

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and industry developments is crucial in this role. You will improve and implement internal tax policies and procedures, using technology to streamline tax compliance and advisory workflows.

Collaborating across departments to support broader business initiatives is also an essential aspect of this position. Additionally, you will mentor and support junior staff within the tax team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure firm-wide compliance with all relevant Australian tax legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and industry developments
  • Improve and implement internal tax policies and procedures
  • Use technology to streamline tax compliance and advisory workflows
  • Collaborate across departments to support broader business initiatives
  • Mentor and support junior staff within the tax team
Requirements

You will need to possess strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation law and compliance standards – CPA Qualified or equivalent.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, confident communication and interpersonal abilities to engage clients and internal stakeholders, and proven ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines are also required.

A proficiency in tax/accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, or similar, and demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within a tax or accounting environment are necessary.
