Our organization is currently seeking a Wellbeing Specialist to join our team in the Darling Downs - Maranoa region.

The role will involve working closely with schools and their leadership to establish wellbeing services for students. This will include assessing mental health needs, delivering therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with external agencies to ensure access to appropriate supports.

We are looking for candidates who possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Candidates will be assessed according to their ability to meet the responsibilities of the role, including providing advice and assistance to families, supporting school communities in responding to critical incidents, and developing referral and case management processes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Deliver individual and group interventions to students which address mental health concerns
  • Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom
  • Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service
  • Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students
  • Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students
  • Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team

About this Role

This role requires a candidate who can demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to build strong relationships with colleagues, students, and families.

They will also be required to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing deadlines, all while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.

You will also develop referral and case management processes to support the delivery of the service, and coordinate referrals to external agencies as needed.
