Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join our team at the Port Pirie Acute Medical and Palliative Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical nursing/midwifery care and oversee team provision of care.
  • Assist in management and coordinate interdisciplinary services to resolve local care delivery issues.
  • Engage in clinical teaching and foster a culture of continuous learning for students and less experienced staff.
  • Promote continuity of care and provide shift leadership to the team.
Requirements
  • Registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a current practising certificate.
  • A minimum of 3 years post-registration experience or current classification as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Competence in haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and home patient training according to practice standards.
  • Experience supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workload under minimal supervision.
  • Creativity, innovation, and flexibility in addressing healthcare challenges.
