As a Junior Chef Trainee, you will have the opportunity to develop your culinary skills and experience work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is suited for candidates who like to learn and take direction from experienced chefs.
The Position- Assist with menu planning and food preparation
- Use various cooking methods as shown by the chef and through formal training
- Prepare food items in accordance with menu requirements using standard recipes and production methods
- Assist food production as directed by the chef
- Ensure smooth workflow and efficient kitchen operations
- Assist with receipt of delivery of supplies under chef supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Actively observe, learn, and practice commercial cookery as per requirements of the traineeship
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar environment an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
- Physically fit and reliable
- Team player and able to work autonomously
- Passion for great food and drive to deliver excellent service
- Ability to take direction and keen to learn
