About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Waste Operations Coordinator to join our team in a leadership role within a well-established Waste Operations unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding a dedicated team of professionals committed to maintaining high-quality services across the community.

This is a 1-month temporary contract position, with the potential for extension for the right candidate, offering an excellent chance to make an immediate impact. You will oversee the daily operations, drive service standards, and foster a culture of safety and development within the Waste Operations unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to engage and motivate employees, ensuring alignment with organisational values.
  • Develop leadership skills within the unit, maximising the contribution of supervisors, team leaders, and employees.
  • Promote a safety-centric culture, ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Regularly monitor and update performance and development plans for all staff.
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery of key waste operations services, including road sweeping, shop cleaning, drainage maintenance, and more.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and address any issues related to service delivery.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with safety, policy, and regulatory standards.
About You

The successful candidate will have previous experience leading an operations team in a waste or council environment. To excel in this role, you'll need strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate your team.
